Spring Boot specify application.properties location 2018-05-23 02:49
When I run Spring Boot jar in different environment I need different configuration. I use command line to assign the location of application.properties. Let's say you have a project without application.properties file and you package it as jar. You can use java -jar YOUR_PACKAGE_NAME.jar to start this project. The output is like following.

We can see the default port is 8080. I add the config file application.properties in "spring_config" directory and assign it when run java -jar. The content of application.properties is like following.
server.port=8090
run java -Dspring.config.location=file:/tmp/spring_config/application.properties -jar YOUR_PACKAGE_NAME.jar. As the log output the port is changed tobe 8090.
